ABOUT ME
My name is Daniel “D3ad Signal” and I am a game developer and digital artist that is bringing new and interesting ideas through the visual and technical aesthetics of older games. My work is heavily influenced by the surreal and dreamy stories and style of the PlayStation 1 and 2 eras. I grew up playing games from that time, and I am most inspired by the atmosphere of games like Shadow of the Colossus. I aim to use these older styles in my own work to create a sense of nostalgia for the players. My work involves programming with 2D and 3D designs to create immersive worlds. As of now, I mainly use the Godot engine along with GDScript to implement my projects and works. One aspect of game development that I am most interested in is level design. The program I use the most is Trenchbroom. With it, I am able to achieve the specific geometry and feel of Quake engine style games. Along with this, I also design 2D assets like UI and Sprites in Procreate that I make sure fits the aesthetics of the environments I create. My overall goal in the game field is to use modern tools to bring my strange ideas to life with the visual look and feel of the hardware I enjoyed as a kid.
This site serves as a digital archive of my work.
